- <p> It was not a good week for Eddie Murphy. When the ego of
- the fledgling director and the beauty of actress Michael
- Michele collided on the Hollywood set of his new movie, Harlem
- Nights, sparks flew. Dumped after a few rehearsals, she slapped
- the star with a $75 million lawsuit, claiming she was fired
- because she rejected his "personal overtures." Murphy, who
- called her charges "absurd and totally false," had other woes
- as well. A group of New York City blacks, including 40 stage
- actors, protested his decision to film on a Tinseltown back lot
- instead of in the real Harlem.
